According to a notice from the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Hailiang’s construction project of an annual production of 100,000 tons of recycled copper alloy bars has received central budget investment support for the year 2023, with funding of 15 million yuan.
Hailiang's construction project for an annual production of 100,000 tons of recycled copper alloy bars utilizes recycled copper materials, such as refinery brass from social recycling and scraps generated during the machining process of copper alloys. The project employs a short process and intelligent proprietary technology, including material storage dust removal, chemical analysis, drying, crushing, magnetic separation, and vibration sorting of recycled materials, precise weighing and batching, subsurface and rotational flow melting with electromagnetic induction, high-precision servo-harmonic multi-head continuous casting and traction, and online coiling.
This project has applied for 14 invention patents, with 11 authorized, including 3 international invention patents. Once completed, the project will achieve an 85% utilization rate of waste copper and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 61,400 tons annually.
