On the morning of the 9th, outside the eastern gate of the Great Hall of the People, a fleet of buses gradually arrived. Nearly 2,000 representatives from various industries across the country, as well as over 50 special delegates, converged in Beijing, bearing the trust of hundreds of millions of workers. Their mission was to comprehensively review the achievements and experiences of trade union work in the new era and discuss the glorious responsibilities of trade union organizations in the new journey.
"Returning to the Great Hall of the People once again feels very familiar and awe-inspiring!" It has been five years since Yao Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Liang Group Party Committee and Chairperson of the Trade Union Federation, last attended the opening ceremony of the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions. She couldn't help but reminiscing about those moments. Her emotions were running high, and she felt the weight of her mission and responsibilities even more deeply.
"The speeches from the Party Central Committee and the work report of the congress are sincere, motivating, and brimming with a deep sense of concern. They demonstrate the profound dedication to the working class and trade union work from Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. This has left us deeply inspired and invigorated." As she steped out of the conference hall after the opening ceremony, Yao Hui emphasized the importance of promptly transmitting the congress's spirit to our employees. Furthermore, she stressed the need to meticulously execute every task, ensuring a seamless integration of learning and action, thus turning knowledge into practical implementation."
Zhejiang delegation holds a group meeting
In the afternoon of the 9th, the Zhejiang delegation of the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions held a group meeting. Yao Hui and other representatives enthusiastically shared their thoughts, engaged in lively discussions, and provided constructive suggestions after diligently studying the speeches by central leaders and reviewing the 18th National Congress report. They expressed a stronger sense of responsibility and mission, pledging to unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Xi Jinping at the core, to be the main force in the nation's development and the realization of its prosperity.
"As a representative of enterprise trade union, attending the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions is an honor, but it's also a responsibility and a driving force. The speeches of the Party Central Committee provide profound insights and serve as fundamental guidelines for innovation and development in the field of trade unions in the new era. Yao Hui emphasized the importance of strengthening ideological and political education for workers, integrating ideological guidance into daily routines, and pooling the strength of the high-quality development of the enterprise.

Solid advancement of industrial workers. Hailiang Group Trade Union will lead the way in the implementation of the enterprise transformation pilot project, focused on the "Blue-Collar Job Ecosystem Construction Project." We will diligently apply measures like skill development, innovation, and quality improvement, creating a robust system for skills and career advancement. This will ensure that the company's progress aligns with the growth and prosperity of its employees.

Building harmonious labor relations. As one of the first national model companies of harmonious labor relations, Hailiang Group became a pilot unit for improving workers' quality of life in January of this year. We will further enhance caring and supportive initiatives related to skill improvement, assistance for those in need, and advocacy for rights and interests. We will continue to enrich and strengthen the role of cultural events like the "Festival of a Better Life" and similar platforms within the company. Additionally, we aim to comprehensively establish long-term mechanisms to provide workers with "care, support, growth, and prosperity" in the new era, shared by all. This will help ensure that workers experience a "comfortable working environment, satisfactory welfare guarantees, harmonious labor relations, warm support in times of need, and enjoyable cultural activities" in the modern age.
Yao Hui stressed the need to unite workers, pool their efforts to serve the enterprise and contribute to the economic and social development. She also emphasized the importance of ensuring that the benefits of the company's development reach workers. Trade unions should play the roles of confidant, supporter, and a family for the workers, fostering a culture of happiness within the trade union.

During the delegate group discussions, representatives reviewed and discussed the Amendment to Constitution of the Chinese Trade Union (Amendment), the Financial Work Report of the 17th Executive Committee of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and the Work Report of the 17th Fiscal Review Committee of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. These discussions received approval at the congress.
Shaoxing delegates to the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions
On the morning of the 11th, the second plenary session of the congress was held, during which 1,945 delegates from various industries across the country cast their solemn votes at the main venue, electing the new leadership for the Chinese Trade Unions.
On the afternoon of the 12th, the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions successfully concluded. After accomplishing all the congress's tasks, the delegates shouldered new responsibilities and missions, full of confidence as they returned to their respective workstations.
Yao Hui stated that the congress was inspiring and fulfilling, providing rich content and motivating delegates. It clearly defined the direction for uniting and mobilizing workers at all levels for the new journey. After returning to their workstations, delegates should immediately communicate, learn, and implement the spirit of the congress.
