On September 25th, a delegation of 26 members from Ambassador and Counsellor Study Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conducted a research visit to Gansu Hailiang New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Hailiang New Energy Materials” below). Participants included Chen Lan, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Party Committee, and Lu Yunzhao, Director of the Comprehensive Division and Second-level Inspector of the Gansu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.
Accompanied by Deng Ye, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Hailiang New Energy Materials, the study group personally visited the production line, familiarizing the thorough information of the development history, industrial layout and development plans of Hailiang Group. What’s more, they also gained a comprehensive understanding of the construction, operation, and overseas layout of high-performance copper foil project with annual production of 150,000 tons of Hailiang New Energy Materials.
Song Yang, Chinese Ambassador to Peru, combined the current new background and challenges faced by the international community and made a statement. He expressed his delight in seeing Hailiang actively implementing the “going global” strategy, strategically positioning in overseas markets with a forward-looking perspective, and taking the initiative to become a leading enterprise in China's copper processing industry. He encouraged Hailiang to continue innovating and to enhance its competitiveness in the international market.
Hailiang Group actively responds to the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the requirements of high-quality development, expands into international markets and establishes 22 production bases in Asia, the Americas, and Europe. The internationalization of new energy is an important measure in Hailiang Group's international development strategy. As the first copper foil enterprise in the industry to go overseas, the 100,000-ton high-performance copper foil project have commenced construction in Indonesia in June 2023.
In the future, Hailiang Group will continue to keep pace with national development, actively respond to the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and practice the concept of “sweet potato economy” (an economic form that combines openness and inclusiveness). It strives to contribute more Hailiang strength to the construction of the “Belt and Road” in broader fields, at deeper levels, and to a higher standard.
